The pancake breakfast is a staple of the Calgary Stampede.
A traditional Stampede breakfast consists of pancakes, sausages and/or bacon, juice and coffee. During the Stampede free pancake breakfasts are everywhere: in shopping mall parking lots, community centres, and in front of area businesses. If you're in town during the Stampede, pick up a copy of one of the two local papers (Calgary Sun, Calgary Herald) and look for a listing of the day's pancake breakfasts.
The cornerpin of the Stampede breakfast offerings is the Stampede Caravan, which consists of a band of volunteers who have been flipping pancakes every July since 1976. Check the listings below for a pancake breakfast close to your hotel or stomping grounds:
