Not all great health spas are in the big city. This alternative health retreat offers hydrotherapy, far infrared sauna treatments, massage and educational classes, too!

Glendon, Alberta is known by many for having the world’s largest pyrogy. (A pyrogy is a potato-filled dumpling of Ukrainian heritage, and this one is monstrous!) The gargantuan pyrogy hangs from the tines of an equally enormous fork, suspending it high above Pyrogy Park near the center of town. Tourists come from all over to view the big pyrogy and have their pictures taken beneath it. But all that may change if the folks at The Three Angels Wellness Center have anything to say about it.

Weekend or Ten-Day Live-In Retreats

The Three Angels Wellness Center in Glendon, Alberta, Canada offers weekend and ten-day retreats to people looking for a natural approach to improved health. The holistic, all-encompassing program format provides natural treatment for obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cancer, depression, allergies, arthritis, fybromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and a host of other ailments.

Relax and Unwind

Visitors entering the building first get a sense of the tranquility of the place from its cozy and welcoming décor. The grounds are equally appealing. Located on the outskirts of town, the modern health facility is surrounded by spacious lawns and is flanked by natural woodlands. There is ample room for walking, meditating, and just relaxing. Everything about the place speaks quiet restfulness, and hope.

Personalized Health Improvement Programs

The friendly and knowledgeable staff at the center provide a personalized program to meet the health goals of each guest. The general program for all guests includes cleansing, exercise, freshly made organic juices and vegetarian meals, health lectures, cooking classes, and natural health treatments, which include a variety of hydrotherapy treatments, massage, and far infrared sauna treatments.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is used in the center as part of the detoxification process, to improve immune function and circulation, and in the treatment of pain. Guests may relax and unwind in a jetted tub, or take a bracing hot/cold contrast shower under forty-six jets of water that alternates from very warm to cold. Guests may also benefit from hot or cold fomentations.

Greater Benefits From Far Infrared Sauna

The far infrared sauna, which is used to treat patients who suffer from fybromyalgia, chronic fatigue, high blood pressure, immune deficiencies, obesity, arthritis, and other ailments, is not like a conventional sauna. The far infrared sauna is sometimes referred to as producing a softer heat. That is because it produces enhanced health benefits at a lower temperature and over a shorter duration of time than conventional saunas.

As more people learn about what the Three Angels Wellness Center has to offer, it may just be that folks will be heading there for treatment first, before strolling down to see the giant pyrogy near the center of town.
